Whether you wish to immortalize a loved one, celebrate a milestone, or simply capture a moment in time, each portrait is a one-of-a-kind work—meticulously rendered to reveal personality, presence and quiet elegance.

My latest portrait was painted in oil on sustainably sourced poplar wood, a medium prized for its smooth grain and archival stability. In recent years, extended sittings have proven challenging for many clients, so we worked from a carefully chosen photograph. This allowed me to focus on the nuances of expression—the subtle lift of an eyebrow, the warmth of a smile—without the pressure of a live session

What to expect when commissioning your portrait

1. Consultation & Reference

   • We begin with a private consultation—via video call or in-person—where you share your vision, preferred medium, and any inspirational imagery.

   • If an extended sitting isn’t possible, a high-resolution photograph will guide every brushstroke.

2. Medium & Support

   • Oil on Canvas or Poplar Panel: Rich depth, luminous glazes, archival quality.

   • Acrylic on Linen or cotton: Vibrant colour, quicker drying time, modern finish.

3. Progress Updates

   • I’ll send you in-studio photos at key stages (to be discussed), so you remain part of the process without disrupting the creative flow.

4. Presentation

   • Your portrait arrives ready to hang, to be discussed. Framing options to suit your décor—classic gilt, hand-rubbed wood, or minimalist float frame or plain as. it comes.
